Update of the Uganda project

24.1.2018

In 2012, Photon Energy Foundation provided solar panels to a school in the village of Mityana – Butega in Uganda. The solar power was used for electricity and to power a water pump. Five years after the installation of the technology, the Ugandan school continues to enjoy the electricity from the solar system as well as the clean water that it helps to pump.

Moreover, the awareness of the benefits of solar applications among the local population is spreading and further improves the perception of alternative energy resources. The project led interested parties to realize that, with supervision and regular maintenance, solar systems are applicable, efficient and socially beneficial in small and detached areas where common grid electrification is not yet developed.
